Model: NIRAVARI

A parsimonious bio-decisional model for assessing the sustainability and vulnerability of rainfed or groundwater-irrigated farming systems in indian agriculture

This dynamic model for irrigation management at farm level was developed as part of the ANR ATCHA project (in this case for India) . Original features include multi-source irrigation management (rain, groundwater, basin) and the possibility of modifying the number of plots (bele) on a farm (jeminu). The equations are simple, but allow a variety of processes to be represented. The model is developed in Excel, using data verification functions, object language capabilities and various graphical interfaces to represent simulation results.
